Long story short, I was at home one night, and my parents had gone out for the night, so I figured I could hook up with a guy I'd been talking to on OkCupid.

He agreed to meet at the house, and I gave him the address. I even left a note on the door with my number so he could text me to be let in.

So I wake up in the middle of the night to this guy standing at the edge of my bed, watching me.

I screamed and asked who the hell he was, and he told me that when he got to the house, my dad answered the door and told him he could come on in, make himself comfortable, and wait for me to wake up and get ready for our date.

I'm beyond confused by this, because I know my parents weren't going to be back that night.

I asked him how he got in, and he said that my dad let him in, handed him a key, and said he could come and go as he pleased, and that he was sorry my dad couldn't stick around to meet him, but he was incredibly busy.

I'm still half asleep, and I didn't even have my phone handy, so I sat up in bed and asked him what the hell was going on.

He started acting super evasive, like he was hiding something from me, and that just creeped me the fuck out.

I managed to find my phone, and I dialed 911, but before I hit call, I hear my "date" tell me not to.

I turn around, and he's holding the biggest fucking hunting knife I've ever seen, and he's standing right next to the bed, ready to stab me with it.

I freaked out, and I shit you not, I don't know how I had the wherewithal to do this, but I grabbed my cat and held him in front of me like a human shield.

My cat is a huge fucker, and he's extremely aggressive, so he immediately started scratching and hissing, and "date" started backing away, telling me he wasn't going to hurt me.

I hit call and woke up the 911 operator, and I told them to get someone to my house immediately.

"Date" started to run down the stairs, and I followed him, cat still clutched to my chest, and I managed to get his car's description and license plate number.

My dad came home shortly after, because the police called him, and he was absolutely floored that this guy was in my room.

I asked him how this guy got in, and he told me that he never spoke to my date, never let him in the house, and he didn't give him a key.

Our house has an alarm system, and if someone who doesn't have a key tries to get in when the alarm is set, a monitoring service calls our home and cell phones, and if no one answers, they call the police to do a welfare check.

Long story short, home security came to our house that night, and my date answered my dad's door, telling them that he was my dad, and he'd just forgotten his key.

So they reset the alarm with his "permission" and told him to be safe.

The police showed up at my date's house, and when they brought him to the station to book him, he was not the guy I went on the date with.

He was an old man, probably in his sixties, with a receding shit of hair and a beer gut. He looked nothing like the guy I met up with.

The police told me they'd done background checks, and the guy they had in custody was who owned the car I described, and who had the ID my date had.

I gave them the description of the guy I'd met, and they started an investigation into identity theft.

It's been six years since that happened, and it still creeps me out to this day.
