My boyfriend won't travel to Asia with me, but I'm going to "force" him, anyway

I planned a trip for my boyfriend and I to go to Japan. I've always wanted to go, but I don't want my first trip to be solo so I wanted to go with him. For months I had been planning the trip and he was OK with it. I bought my ticket and hotel stay. A few days before we're supposed to leave he tells me he doesn't want to go.<br><br>He tells me he's afraid to be in a country that doesn't speak English. He's never been in a country that doesn't speak English before.<br><br>I feel like I'm in a lose lose situation. I've already paid for the trip and if we don't go I'll have to cancel my ticket and hotel stay which would result in a huge loss of money. If we do go he would have a terrible time. What to do?<br><br>I decided to just go.<br><br>I'm a US citizen and I'm black. I knew there would be a culture shock, but I also knew a lot of black people have gone and had no issues. I was right. I had zero issues and I had a great time. I feel like I learned a lot and I would love to come back and experience more of the culture.<br><br>I'd like to go back soon.
