"Awkward silence on livestreams is NOT the fault of the audience, but rather the fault of the streamer.

The streamer should be responsible for ensuring their stream has a dynamic audio/visual content. They should not have to constantly talk over their shoulder to see if you're quiet yet. The fact that we have to constantly cycle through different phases of talking, awkward silence, and then back to talking is just proof that the streamer is either really bad at creating content or a jerk who is trying to be " authentic."

I 100% think that people watching live streams should have the ability to just watch what they're watching without having to constantly here some try hard streamer talk over the whole video equation. Yes, AdSense isn't streaming in live, but that isn't an excuse to not make a good, engaging stream. If your only reason for watching a stream is to see the interaction with the content creator, then you should not be watching a live steam in the first place, since the interactivity is one of the downsides of watching a live steam. You have to choose between watching the content, and the interaction between the content creator and the livetream viewer.

I have a hard time believing that the most engaging parts of most livetreams are the moments where the streamer is actually playing the game. Its almost always the moments where the streamer is talking over their shoulder to coordinate private dances for donations or coordinating a group buy with their "mutuals" or some other form of interaction that takes them out of the game that we find the most rewatchable. Why should we have to pay to have the privilege of hearing someone talk over their shoulder while they coordinate private dances or coordinate group buys?
