Came to reddit only to see that we are not the only ones complaining about those unwanted buggers. I had a good chuckle reading through this thread. I had 2-3 on my roof this fall, with one falling into my bathtub. My dog almost ate it, but strangely the smell scared him off.

They probably hitched a ride into our house since they pretend to be leaves and hide inside the smallest crevasses. We opened the roof window once and everybody went crazy: the bugs were falling down.

It seems our city was mostly affected. We are in Southern Europe (near the Mediterranean). They seem to be attracted to the inside lights, so they crawl into our houses or die in front of the streetlights.

Not sure how they got here, but there is a highway going through our city that is leading to a port. I read somewhere that the bugs came on a transportation containing cars. I never saw them before, so I guess these little guys are the immigrants, and we are the locals that pretend to have lived here for centuries.

We are watching them and seeing where they pretend to go now that it is winter.

It seems that they came mostly in the fall, with them dying off in the winter.

Never thought I'd say this, but I will miss the little pretend leaves.

Lol.
