I've been posting on tiktok for years and I've noticed a massive shift from genuine content to using #WitchTok as a way to gain traction and followers. These are mainstream influencers who have been posting makeup tutorials, fashion advise, workout routines, and other "girly" topics - now they're claiming to be witches. They have no real knowledge or experience with paganism or witchcraft, they just see the trend and want to get in on it.

They see how many people like the idea of witchcraft now and want to jump in and say "Hey, I'm a witch. You should follow me." They don't actually post any content about witchcraft or paganism, but they want to get their foot in the door and attract witchy followers.

If you see someone using a wispy aesthetic to promote their makeup products or using #WitchTok to advertise yoga routines, unfollow and downvote.
