Why are billionaires so convinced they can run space agencies?

Let’s look at these two billionaires and see their track records:

Musk: Tesla - over-promising and under-delivering, Twitter - turned into a crazy ex, SpaceX - putting together scraps from the govt, Boring Co - overpromised and underdelivered, Hyperloop - private train if you use a fan.

Bezos: Amazon - using old technology and exploiting workers to deliver you fast (and now not so fast) consumer goods, Blue Origin - overpromising and underdelivering for close to 20 years.

What is it about their private sectors that these billionaires think qualify them to run space agencies? How is Musk supposed to go to Mars two decades faster than NASA? What is the supposed plan that Bezos has to go to the moon? They don’t even run their own companies well. Why would anyone think they have even a fraction of the capability of the entire govt working on a space program? Something about this just makes me dislike these billionaires even more.
