AITA for not allowing my niece to return to my house after I found out she lied about taking my things?

I have lots of nephews and one niece. My sister in laws kids are all boys and my brother in laws kids are all girls. My husband and I don’t have any kids. We weren’t able to conceive. I have a lot of nieces (all girls) but only 2 nephews (all boys)<br><br>I have a niece that stays with me from time to time. I bought her a phone and phone card because she was without a phone. She did not have a phone at all before I gave her one. <br><br>I had a few purses that I haven’t worn in a while. I rotated a lot especially out and about. I have 5 purses in total. I bought them second hand at a garage sale. I use my purses a lot especially out and about. I haven’t used 3 of the purses in a while. I was prepping my house for Christmas knowing that my siblings kids would be over. So I pulled out the other 2 purses and added stuff in them because I wanted to use them <br><br>I looked for the purses and couldn’t find them. I asked my niece if she has seen the purses. She said no. I had a sinking feeling because her and her 2 sisters have tried to take stuff in the past. I left my cupboard door cracked open. I opened it and I noticed my stuff was a little out of place. I felt around and I noticed something was in the back of my cupboard. It was my purse. I pulled it out and it was half empty. I asked again my niece if she took my purse out and she said yes. I asked why and she said she was looking for something. I asked her what and she said “your money.”<br><br>I was mad and upset. I yelled at her and I told her that I don’t keep my money in my bag. I never carry extra money because I only use my credit card. I yelled at her and I told her to get out. She left.<br><br>She has been begging to come back over since. I told my brother and his wife that she isn’t welcome back at my house. My brother and his wife were mad at me. My sister and her husband were on my side. <br><br>My brother said that I’m overreacting and have an attitude. My sister said that I’m justified for being upset. I asked my brother why I should let someone back into my house when they clearly will steal from me. He said that she won’t do that again and will be more careful. I told him that she lied to me and she went through my bag. I should get my bag back with everything in it. Nothing was missing out of my purse but my license and the bags registration. I don’t want her in my house at all. I don’t trust her in my house. I’m staying at my sisters house right now and I don’t feel comfortable going back home. <br><br>I told my siblings I’m not comfortable with her in my house. I don’t want my sister and her husband (and kids) to feel like I don’t want them over anymore. They have been a great help. <br><br>I’m out of town currently at my sisters. I have no intentions of going back home. I don’t want anything to do with my niece. I don’t trust her at all. Does that make me an asshole?
