Out of all the cousins in my family, I’m the only one out of 8 who is passionate about Hinduism. Others are Hindu and in fact, many of my cousins have posted a lot of anti Christian and anti Muslim content on WhatsApp but when someone is passionate about Hinduism, he’s a fanatic. Anyway.

I’ve often posted content related to Hinduism, quotes from the Gita,Shri Krishna etc and in family groups as well.

One of my cousin’s GF, who is an atheist, commented on a Shri Krishna quote I posted on the family group chat saying “Wow! This sounds like something straight from the Bible”

I didn’t take this and in fact, it’s a stretch to say that it’s Hinduphobic but it feels like a subtle Hinduphobic comment.

I asked her “Oh? What’s the similarity?”

She said “You can just replace God with Jesus and in place of krishna and it would make total sense”

I said “Really? Never read anything in the Bible that says “Yada Yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati Bharate;Yada Yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati Bharate Abhyuthanam adharmasya;Tada atmanam srijamyaham Paritranaaya sadhunam;Vinasaya cha dushkritam Dharma-sansthapanarthaya;Sambhavami yuge yuge”

Also, I used to post a lot of content on the family group. These people on the group chat posted about how Islam is a terrorist religion, how Christianity is a plague and how they’re a threat to Hinduism but when I’m passionate about Hinduism, it’s fanaticism.

I really hate this double standard. Glad my cousin and his GF are breaking up.
