Fingerless gloves are far more useful than regular gloves.

Fingerless gloves allow you to use your fingers as you normally would, while still keeping your hands warm. I wear them when I'm out and about during the winter, and I can come in and out of the cold as much as I want and still have warm hands. It seems like regular gloves are good for specific situations, and don't complement casual day to day activities in the winter that is likely to involve being in and out of the cold.
