What are your thoughts on Dems not touching SS/Medicare/AFDC/EBT/Food Stamps during Debt Ceiling negotiations?

Seems like we've skipped past all the main issues Dems have trouble discussing, and are just talking about oil drilling and not giving out free phones and not giving out free insulin and the like. <br><br>Thoughts Dems not touching the big issues?<br><br>Thoughts GOP isn't pushing for it?
