No arrest over stealing $150

I stole something with my friend and I got caught. the store wanted to call the police to have me and my friend arrested. They will arrest my other friend but not me. the police said that there is no law that compels store owners to arrest everyone who steals from them. So what should happen if the store only decides to arrest one of the people who steals? let's say that my friend and I stole $100. and another friend who was with us also stole $50. the store is only arresting my friend who stole with me. should they let all of us go, none of us or me and my friend go and not the other friend?
