What does the average farmer, blacksmith, tailor, soldier, maiden and gentleman in 1776 think if they found out we are on the cusp of landing a man on Mars.<br><br>What do they think about the sheer nightly glow of cities from the satellites orbiting the earth? Or the sheer amount of people inhabiting this earth, 100x over their wildest dreams.<br><br>What does the average soldier on either side of the war think about the fact that we have devices with computing power 1000 times the power of the largest supercomputer of the 1980s, and we all carry it in our pockets.<br><br>How would they feel about the USA being one of the - if not the - most powerful nation on earth?<br><br>How would they feel about democracy and freedom as it exists today?<br><br>What would they think about the splitting of the atom, cure for cancer, or organ transplants?<br><br>What do they think about the USA's involvement in the world? - Do they believe it to be akin to the British Empire they fought against?<br><br>What do they think about the maiden and working class woman's right to vote, work and get an education?<br><br>Do they approve of the National debt in the trillions, the stock market, wall street, the state of the economy?<br><br>What do they think of the decline of the church, the rise of science, and the standardization of education?<br><br>How would they feel about - or handle - the current state of race relations in the USA?<br><br>What do they think about the fact that white, black and Asian men and women are dying side by side in the armed forces, or working in the highest levels of government?<br><br>What do they think about the amount of food waste, or the amount of food we eat, or the types of food we eat?<br><br>What do they - the people who were alive at the dawn of the industrial revolution - think about the sheer speed and scale of industry as it exists today?<br><br>What would they think about space stations, drones, the internet and computers, robotic limbs, pace-makers, prosthetics?<br><br>What would they think about our response to pandemics, and the state of current medicine, like mRNA vaccines?<br><br>What do they think about the modern handling of crime and punishment in the justice system?<br><br>What do they think about police body cams, choke holds, the BLM movement, defund the police?<br><br>What do they think about the rise of Hollywood, rock and roll, video games and modern media?<br><br>What would they think about Christmas in 2025, with brightly coloured lights, plastic trees, plastic decorations, and children demanding the new iPhone?<br><br>What do they think about how we as a society - as a world - responded to the events of September 11th 2001?<br><br>What do they think about the state of the environment, pollution and climate change?<br><br>What do they think about same sex marriage and transgender rights?<br><br>What do they think about the sheer size of Wal-Mart, Amazon, or Target, the existence of fast food and chain restaurants?<br><br>What would they think about the average person today not knowing how to change a tire, sew a button, or cook a meal?<br><br>What do they think about the NSA and CIA - Do they believe it to be an overreach of government, as it was with the stamp and tea acts?<br><br>What do they think about the state of politics today, modern political parties, the current candidates running, etc?<br><br>What do they think about abortions being legal?<br><br>What do they think about the fact that tobacco has been banned inside and around most establishments, or that alcohol is banned from being sold to anyone under 21, or that there are even such laws as that in the first place?<br><br>What do they think about the hardships, the blood, sweat and tears of the pioneers, the Oregon trail, the gold rush, and how it all could be traversed in less than a day by car or train today?<br><br>What do they think about labour laws, unions, 8 hour work days, weekends, paid time off and benefits?<br><br>What do they - the people who could only dream to go to university, and who most likely never learned to read or write - think about the standardization of education, and how it is now expected that a person will go to high school, and many will go to university as well.<br><br>What do they think about the fact that we work until 60-70, and are expected to be nothing but a burden on society after that?<br><br>What do they think about the hardships, blood, sweat and tears that went into building this nation, its future and its people, and what it has amounted to and what we have achieved?<br><br>&#x200B;
