Does it make sense to have a single religion for an entire world/country?

I'm working on a sword and sorcery world and every time I try to work on the religion, I feel like having a single religion makes no sense. So I'm working on multiple religions now, each one kind of spread around the country in different regions. I don't know, it just feels strange to have a single religion across entire lands, especially if they have different cultures and ways of living. <br><br>What are your thoughts on this?
