My daughter’s ex best friend is now trying to date me.

I am a father of a 15 year old girl. She was best friends with this girl named Jess. They were each others plus ones to basically everything. I met Jess probably over a hundred times. Her parents and us got along great. We would go on group outings and they would also join in on family things. Jess stopped hanging out about 7 months ago. My daughter never really wanted to talk about it. I asked a few times and she just said it was better because they had changed and didn’t do everything together anymore. I accepted her answer. I did wonder but let it go.<br><br>Last week, out of the blue, Jess messaged me on Facebook saying she was in town and was wondering if I wanted to get drinks and see where things go. I was in shock. I didn’t know what to say, so I just said I was married and told her to move on. I figured that was the best thing to say, but I didn’t really believe it was going to change her mind because she kept contacting me. She called and left a message saying she couldn’t date just anyone and would rather wait for me. That left me really confused. I told my wife and she said she wouldn’t have anything against dating her because she’s “very attractive and I’m attractive and I went to talk to her”.<br><br>My wife told me to take her out because she’s “hot” and we could have some fun. She doesn’t understand how it’s weird because I know her whole life story and I know my daughter’s whole life story. It’s weird because I’m married and my daughter was a kid to me just like always. I don’t think this would be okay anywhere in the world, but we are in Dubai. Our society is weird. My wife is weird. She thinks I’m being weird. She doesn’t understand why I don’t want to go because she’s attractive and we haven’t had fun in a while.
