My friend got me to look out for her and another friend. Who knew they’d be the ones to look out for.

**ThrowAway account for obvious reasons**<br><br>This is going to sound very dumb, but it’s going to be my first time in this subreddit and the only thing that I can compare it to is from those stories that aren’t real or were made up or something, until they happened to me.<br><br>I came up with this title because the whole time I thought they were the ones to look out for. Well they weren’t, I was, they were going away for some business and asked me if I could stay at the house to house sit. I agreed and stayed for 3 days. <br><br>The first night was fine, I set up a few motion detecting lights and in those 3 days I checked all the locks and made sure everything was closed. I thought I was ready and they were the ones to look out for, but I certainly was. Now I wish I didn’t spend the night there and wasn’t the only person in the house.<br><br>The second night, I was sitting on the couch watching Netflix when I heard the stove make some noise. I checked and there was nothing so I thought it was just the house settling or something. But a little while later I heard the faucet make a strange sound. Now I was sure it was just the house settling. Then I heard the stove make that noise again I turned the stove off and went to the bathroom to check and the faucet was still running full blast and I didn’t remember turning it on. I was getting mad and was like I’d turn it off and went to but it was already off, I thought maybe it was a one time thing, but when I went back to the living room the stove was on again and I was like “what the f\*\*k!!” I checked all the appliances and they were all working fine. <br><br>I went upstairs ready to go to bed, when I heard footsteps. I thought it might’ve been the house settling, but the footsteps got louder and went along the whole hallway towards my room. I went and checked, but no one was there. I thought I was just being paranoid, but I can assure you this wasn’t the case. I went back downstairs to check if all the doors and windows were closed. When I went to check the garage door sure enough it was open. I thought the house was haunted and open and closed the garage door a few times. Even going back upstairs and sure enough it was closed when I went back down. This time I went out to check and no one was there and the door we’re closed. The driveway we’re empty and the street was empty. <br><br>I went back upstairs and ready to go to bed. I turned out the light and got into bed and was ready to go to sleep. I closed my eyes and they felt like they were being watched. I opened my eyes and sure enough someone was standing in the corner of the room where there seemed to be a shadow. I screamed and they ran out of the room. I tried to turn on the light but it wouldn’t turn on. I got out of bed and ran out of the room down the stairs, and out the door and down the street.<br><br>I was terrified someone was in the house with me. I walked down the street and stopped at the first house that I saw someone out. I told them someone was in the house and they we’re like “what!!” I told them to call the police and they did. When the police came I told them they the whole story and they were just as shocked and confused as I was. They went and checked the house and sure enough no one was there. They even went into the room and no one was there. <br><br>They told me to go to a hotel or stay the night at this persons house and I choose to go to the hotel. I got a room and stayed the night. The next morning the police came to the hotel and told me I could go back, and I didn’t want to at first, but they said I had to and if I didn’t I’d be fined. I went to the house and got my things and packed my bag and told my friends that I couldn’t stay and I went home. <br><br>I didn’t hear anything for a few days, until my friend whose house I was housesitting, called and asked why didn’t I do what they told me to. I told them I didn’t feel safe and they were mad. I told them I didn’t care because I was almost kidnapped and they didn’t care.<br><br>I haven’t talked to them since and I haven’t been to that house either. I don’t think I ever will.<br><br>**tl;dr:** I house sat at my friends house and the whole time someone was watching me and came after me. I got out but they’re mad at me because I didn’t stay.
