I do not really believe that horror anthologies are outright dead, but I do think that they are in a pretty bad spot. I just watched V/H/S/99 and I did not think that it was a good movie. I believe that the whole V/H/S franchise is perhaps the most relevant example of the problems that horror anthologies have been having. If you look at the first two movies, V/H/S/1 and V/H/S/2, both had extremely high ratings for horror movies, 8.5 and 8.1 respectively. But then V/H/S Viral came along and it got a 4.1. Then came V/H/S/94 which got a 5.4 and V/H/S/99 which got a 5.8. Of all the recent horror anthologies, such as Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, Fear Street Part 2 - 1978, and Malignant, all of which are generally considered to be good movies, they all had much lower ratings than some of the first anthologies like Trick 'r Treat which received a 7.9. There are some anthologies that are good, such as XX, but I think that there is a decent amount of traction for the position that anthologies have gone downhill. I would love to be proven wrong.

Edit: I try not to respond to people who don't have a score above 0. If you believe that you have something worth saying then try to be more thoughtful or put yourself in the other persons shoes for once.
