This sub is a great place to bounce ideas around and share knowledge. But, let's be real, we've all seen an idea and said things like "Hey, OP, have you tried making this problem you have the central conflict of the story?" or "Hey, why don't you just make this random event the inciting incident for the whole plot?" Then, the next time the OP posts, it's something like "Thanks for all the feedback. Here's my attempt at a story." With a story that has absolutely nothing to do with the world they're trying to build.

So let's flip it around. People from other subs (e.g. r/AskTeenGirls, r/rant, r/offmychest, r/confession) come here asking for advice about real problems or beefs they have. Since we don't know anything about the real world, we give them advice that is deeply flawed in one way or another. What is the worst advice you've given, and to who?

People with real problems, this is your official warning that any advice you get from this thread is very, very bad.
