Is this a normal hotel experience in Australia?

Just got back to the US after an eight-day trip to northern Australia.<br><br>My hotel was a budget 3-star one. <br><br>The hotel laundry room was coin operated and there were no clean bedsheets and towels, which I found strange for a hotel.<br><br>My hotel room had a mini fridge but there was no free water in the fridge. I can understand that, but one of the tap water in the hotel room was not potable water. This was the first time I encountered this in Australia.<br><br>But the tap water in Australia is usually clean tap water, right?
