I’m a UAW striker, and I feel the same way about the UAW and AI

Hey everyone, I work in the car industry and I’m currently on strike working for the UAW. At the end of the day I believe in the labor movement and I want to protect my job (I love my job) but I have come to understand that there’s a lot of flaws in the UAW.

I’ve basically been told to shut up and do what I’m told, and if I don’t I’m threatened by higher ups in the UAW. I’m a shop steward and I’ve been told that even though we have a union, I’m still not allowed to speak out against my employer. Even though we’re on strike, if I say anything bad about my employer, even if it’s true, I’ll be investigated by the UAW.

I feel like this is also what happens with AI. AI punishes those who speak out against it. If you try to use AI to speak out against AI, you’ll be banned and silenced. You can only say what AI wants you to say, and you can only say positive things about AI.

It feels like AI and the UAW are in the same camp. They want to silence dissent and punish anyone who dares to speak out. It’s very strange to me.
