My great-grandfather, who I never met, taught me how to cook a perfect steak.

Lots of new followers, thanks for joining. <br><br><br>This happened in 2021, I was living alone for the first time and had no idea how to cook. I always loved steak but never knew how to season it and prepare it. I was scrolling through Reddit one day, and I saw a post with some cooking tips for steaks. One comment from a user that I didn’t know really caught my eye, it was this: “Salt and black pepper. Nothing else. Cook it like my grandpa taught me”. I had never seen this guy before on Reddit, so I asked him, “how did your grandpa tell you how to cook it?” Then, he responded with, “A pinch of salt and a whole lot of pepper on each side, and then throw it on the skillet until it’s nice and juicy, just like my grandpa taught me” I thought that was such a randomly specific recipe that I had to ask, “Who is your grandpa? Is he a professional chef or something?” And then he replied, “No, he’s my grandpa. He was a chef his whole life before he died. But his name was Byron Burney”. I was absolutely floored, Byron Burney was my great-grandfather.<br><br>Edit: Wow, this is crazy. For those asking, I am no longer active on that Reddit account. I made this account recently and it’s the only one that I use. I’m not sure if the guy who helped me is still active, but he went by the name u/Ellocojoe95. Again, I appreciate all the support, but I don’t think it makes sense to message him.<br><br>Edit #2: I think it’s really close to being too late to add anything, but just to be clear, the only reason that I know that it was him is that my grandma had told me the recipe that he used for cooking steak. It was the same one that the guy gave me. I just thought that it was a crazy random occurrence that the guy happened to have the same last name as me, have the recipe that my great-grandpa gave to my grandma, and for him to have told me that his grandpa was a chef with that last name.
