CMV: This sub is now a massive vehicle for /r/redscarepod to spread their ideology, and they have a significant influence on the way people think.

I’ve been lurking this sub for years and I’ll have my CMV post soon. I noticed something very recently—often times /r/redscarepod comments are the top comment, and whether it’s right wingers or just people co-opting red scare ideology it’s growing into a new spectrum of political thought.

Red scare was started by a couple of girls who went to a prestigious school and got a bunch of press coverage for being bizarre socialists that actually like to critique the left and big tech. Every time that podcast appears on a top comment thread I can never help but notice how much it sounds like the alt right of the left. They often say they’re being pigeon-holed into a corner of their ideology and it’s not true, but if it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then you’re in trouble. Regardless if they’re actually a communist, they are laying out the foundation for the freedom to question major institutions like Google and the way we live. This isn’t inherently bad, but I don’t like the way it’s headed.

So here’s my prediction—I think that their comments are going to get more prominent until this sub is full of “red scare” ideology.

I’m not saying this sub is supposed to be filled with liberal, globalist ideology, but I just want to question who we’re allowing on the stage.

I’m not here to single out anyone, I’ve enjoyed the debates on this sub but I think there’s this underlying sentiment that we need to think critically about.
