Did anyone here have to deal with bullies and stuff at school and it was like nothing was being done?

I mean I got bullied pretty bad and I’m mostly wondering why this isn’t taught in school, how to deal with someone and how to fight back because I had a teacher say to me “well if you would fight back then nothing would happen” wtf type of school is this?
