So my girlfriend and I live in a house with our 4 month old baby girl, we do everything to make sure she sleep through the night, we make sure we don’t make any noise, don’t disturb her in any way so she sleeps through the night the best she can, but last week our kitten ran into her bedroom wile we where out, and now she won’t sleep in her bedroom anymore, she wants to sleep in our bed, but I sleep in my office across the hallway, my girlfriend sleep in our main bedroom, we can’t sleep in the same bed as her as early as 8pm and wake up at 8am so we need something to wake us up so we can sleep in the same bed with her.

So I thought to myself that maybe I can make a smart alarm clock that can wake me and my girlfriend up at the same time, so we can sleep in the same bed with her, I would buy a cheap Echo Dot or Google Home Mini and put it in her bedroom, then I could talk to her Alexa/Google Home from my room or my girlfriend room to tell it to go to sleep, then it would start tracking the noise volume in her room, if the noise volume is too high it would wake me and my girlfriend up via Bluetooth connected speakers in our bedrooms and maybe stay awake until me or my girlfriend dismiss the alarm.

So to summarize what I’m looking for in this app:

1. Do everything with voice commands, it will make things a lot easier, much like Amazon Alexa and Google Home, but I only want to be able to control this alarm clock and nothing else, so I can just give the command “hey alarm clock, go to sleep” and the alarm clock would just start tracking the noise.

2. Have a setting that will let you change to sensitivity of the alarm, so if I want the alarm to go off at lower noise volumes, I can change the setting so it can go off at lower volumes, I could just give a command like “alarm clock sensitivity 6” and then the alarm would only go off if the noise volume in the room is higher than level 6.

3. The alarm volume should be as loud as possible, so when the alarm go off the speakers should make a loud annoying sound that will wake me and my girlfriend up ASAP, or we can also maybe set a volume level of the alarm, something like “alarm clock volume 10”, and it would set the volume of the alarm to level 10, I don’t know what levels to use as I’m not really good at coding and stuff, but I think volume levels 1-10 will be good.

So the commands I want will be:

\* “hey alarm clock, go to sleep” which would start the alarm

\* “hey alarm clock, stay awake” which wouldn’t start the alarm

\* “hey alarm clock, dismiss alarm” which would dismiss the alarm

\* “hey alarm clock, alarm volume \[insert number here\]” which would set the alarm volume

\* “hey alarm clock, alarm sensitivity \[insert number here\]” which would set the sensitivity of the alarm.

I think I can make this app work with cheap Echo Dot’s or Google Home Mini’s, I can use them as a device that tracks the noise volume in the room and use them as speakers when the alarm need to go off, I already have a Echo Dot, Google Home Mini, and a Bluetooth speaker so I can test the app with these devices.

So I would really appreciate it if someone can create this app for me, I’m also open for suggestions, and if you think you can do more to the app I’m open to ideas as long as you don’t change the core concept of the app, and if you want to remove features I suggest you ask me first to make sure I’m okay with those features being removed.

Thanks in advance to whoever will make this app for me.

Edit: I see a lot of people in the comments ask why I don’t just use a white noise machine, well first of all a white noise machine won’t help if my kitten runs into her room and meow, it will still wake her up no matter what, and second I really think the concept of this smart alarm can work and maybe even help parents in the future.
