Moral dilemma

So I'm a armed security guard and I just found out one of my co-workers had a loaded handgun in the building whenever he was there. He's an actual good guy and a reasonably cool dude in my opinion. He told me he had the weapon in his bag and it wasn't concealed on his person, so it was purely for self-defense purposes and not going into dangerous areas, because he doesn't think he's needed to. He told me about it after the fact, and he had it in a pretty generic, black baggy backpack, so no one could tell it was there.

My dilemma is that I don't know if I should report him or not. Technically, guns are prohibited in the building, and I know I'd most likely get in trouble if I didn't report it, but as a gun owner and a supporter of the second amendment, I don't see anything wrong with him having it there. He's not the type of guy to get into trouble or discharge his firearm for no reason, so I'm a little conflicted on this issue.

So, what would you guys do in my situation?
