My dad sleeps an awful lot and now I’m questioning how much health damage my brain is irrevocably damaged from years of drug use.

More than a decade of partying, smoking weed for the past decade to control my weight and keep my bowel movements regular, and getting diagnosed with ADHD and taking Ritalin for it.

I am 32 years old.

I went to my mother’s house to visit, and I noticed that my dad was sleeping an awful lot. A couple of hours after breakfast, he told some people to wake him up in a few hours. By the time I got home, he had slept for at least 9 hours.

At dinner, he said, “I’m good for the rest of the night.”

The next day was the same thing, and I decided to inquire about his sleep habits. My brother and my mom both told me that he has been sleeping a lot more than usual lately, but maybe they just think irregardless of any drug abuse I had and ADHD medication I’m taking, it’s a lot of sleep.

But I couldn’t help but wonder what long term damage I’m going to have because of my drug use and ADHD medication. I was kinda depressed thinking about health problems that could already be in the works but I don’t know about yet.
