The rich are not helping themselves at all

The rich, especially billionaires, are so incredibly short-sighted.

The growing wealth inequality is making the rich targets everywhere. It's not the equivalent of the a middle class/working class wanting the poor to have healthcare and shelter. People don't want the rich to pay for healthcare for the poor, they want the rich to *not be millionaires* anymore. It's been growing for decades, but the wealth of the rich combined with the growing costs of living is catching up with them.

It's no wonder they're getting attacked by the left and right. They're the easy target since they all anyone sees on their way up the social ladder. And no, I'm not talking about the people that work hard for their money, I'm talking about the people who are born rich and inherit their parent's wealth.

Why do they need to be billionaires? How could they possibly not see that the wealth inequality isn't going to end well for them? Why are they trying to tunnel under the ocean? Why are they trying to make humanity multi-planetary? They see it coming and have a plan for it. This is the same reason the US wanted to put people and factories on a space station decades ago. They wanted a contingency for when society collapses.

It's no wonder they're buying houses in New Zealand. They want to get out of Dodge before people start clamoring for blood. They have a plan for it, but they can't talk about it without sounding like sociopaths. The rich want to leave the poor and middle class to rot on earth and they won't say it. They just say the equivalent of "get off my lawn" and attack the poor.

This brings me to solution. I think the rich should pay more taxes than they already do. We as a society should come together to stop the rich from hoarding their wealth. If they want to be wealthy, that's fine. I don't have a problem with that, but they shouldn't have to pay their employees the minimum wage. They don't pay their fair share of taxes. If Amazon made $500B last year, they should have paid at least $250B in taxes. If they want to be millionaires, they have to pay their fair share. They can't just pay their employees minimum wage and expect them to be okay with it.

If the rich want to be rich, they have to start paying their fair share of taxes. They have to pay their fair share for the infrastructure they use to make money. If the rich want to be millionaires, they need to start paying their employees a living wage. They need to start paying their fair share.

Edit: Reform and infrastructure is coming, but it's going to be a while. Hanging onto power and wealth is going to be difficult once things start changing.
