How does one take a standard 5.1/3.5/2.1/1.5 Ton 2 Post Lift and widen it?

I am interested in tracking down a commercial lift, to bolt to the floor and use for race car prep. The issue, is that the standard lift I am finding allow for the inward to outwards distance to be adjustable, but not moving the posts outward. Which is crucial, as the racecar I have has the wheels tucked up against the body for aerodynamics. I see the arms, can be adjusted, but not the distance between posts as well as the inner width, which are the adjustable width adjusters.<br><br>How does one take a standard 2 post commercial lift, and widen the posts?<br><br>Do I just have to find one that is wider, and make due with it?<br><br>Or can one modify a standard lift?<br><br>Maybe there is a specific type, of lift out there, that allows it?
