What's the best way to show empirical evidence of a relationship between inflation and the general price level in the economy?

I need to write a term paper for one of my classes and I want to show the relationship how inflation affects the general price in the economy.<br><br>I know that there is an inverse relationship between inflation and the purchasing power of money, and that there is a direct relationship between inflation and the price level. <br><br>What's the best way to show that? I'd like to write some code up in python, but I'm not sure which data to use, or where to find that data.
