I worked in a mental health center for years, and we had A LOT of patients with Antisocial Personality Disorder. Some of them got high on Kratom and became extremely violent. I even had a woman throw a chair at me after taking Kratom. She was HUGE too. Like 250 lbs and 6 feet tall. She was also diagnosed with DID. We had multiple people attack staff after taking Kratom. Yes, people with mental illness are more prone to violence, but it seemed like Kratom really brought out the worst in them.

Training staff to deal with this was a huge problem. We lost staff left and right because they were scared to work with these people and did not know how to handle the situation. We were NOT allowed to touch patients. We walked away and called a "Code Green" and hoped the situation got resolved without anyone getting hurt. I worked nights and the night staff was very minimal as was security. I remember calling 911 and the cops not coming for over an hour to get a violent patient. They were not a threat to anyone else, but they were a threat to staff and property. We were broke and they just did not have the resources to deal with people like this.
