My daughter has a new friend

I just cleaned the baby monitor and felt like I could finally breathe again. <br><br><br>My daughter, Lily started walking and talking recently. She says all sorts of gibberish words and sometimes they actually sound like words. She’s still young and learning so we don’t mind. She tries her best and it’s adorable. When she was a baby she used to coo and make noises. One night we had the baby monitor in her room and she was chatting with someone. <br><br><br>I went in to check on her and she was fast asleep. I thought oh well, kids these days. After that we started to notice her having a lot of night time conversations so we added a camera to the baby monitor. She was still fast asleep when she was talking but her lips would move. One night the light on the monitor started to blink and caught my eye. I saw a dark shadow on the screen. <br><br><br>I went and checked Lily and she was asleep. I thought it was just a shadow. The next night I went in to put her to bed and I saw a random stuffed animal on her bed. I didn’t recognize the color but I figured it was one of her cousins. The next day she had a stuffed animal on her bed and it was the same one. She kept saying boomer and talking about him. When she fell asleep and the lights were off I saw it again, the shadow on the baby monitor. After that, I noticed more and more shadows in the room every night. <br><br><br>I never really thought much of it. I thought nightlights cast shadows but I never saw the shadows move. We went to our friends house and Lily started talking about boomer. I asked her friend if she knew who he was talking about and she said they sometimes play with a dog named boom boom but not a boomer. We went to the dog park and I recognized the dog immediately. It was a yellow colored dog that I saw as the night light in Lily’s room. I asked one of the owners about the dog and if it was yellow and he said yes, that the dog was gold colored. <br><br><br>I thought this was strange like a sign. That night I decided to put my phone in Lily’s room so I could see what was going on. I put it in a corner and charged it. The next morning the phone was on the ground and dead. I plugged it in and waited for it to charge to see if I had caught anything on camera. I saw myself putting the phone down, I saw Lily go to sleep and then after about an hour I saw the phone move and fall. <br><br><br>It could’ve been the bed or something moving the phone but this was in a corner. The phone showed nothing. That night I decided to put the phone in the same corner and charged it again. It was 2am and I saw the phone move and hit the ground. I went in to check on Lily and again, she was fast asleep. The next night I decided to record the whole night. I put the phone in the corner and waited. <br><br><br>At around 3am the light on the camera flickered and boom, the phone fell again to the ground. I couldn’t believe it. I had to know what was going on. I decided to put the boomer stuffy in a plastic bag and throw it out. I also decided to not say anything to Lily. I grabbed the stuffy, put it in a bag and threw it in the trash can. I decided to tell my family and they thought it was a bad idea. They convinced me to put the stuffy back in her room so I did. <br><br><br>The next night I got the courage to put the phone back in her room. I fell asleep and the next morning the camera was back on the ground. It had recorded the entire night and I finally caught a glimpse of the shadowy figure that was moving objects. I tried to enhance the picture and zoom in on the shadow. It was very pixelated but it looked like a face. After that night I decided to put a fan in Lily’s room so that the stuffy wouldn’t fly around. But that night, the fan moved. <br><br><br>I thought the fan was just moving back and forth but that morning I cleaned the baby monitor again and when I had it in my hand I heard Lily say hello boomer. I looked on the baby monitor and boom, the screen went black. My heart was racing and I wanted to check on Lily again but thought she was probably still asleep. When I went in to check on her a few minutes later I saw her sitting on the floor and the baby monitor on the ground again. She turned around with a huge smile and said “I moved it”. I asked where the monitor was and she said “I threw it”. <br><br><br>I asked her why she threw it and she said “me and boomer did it”. I asked boomer who? And she said “my friend”. I asked her to tell me more about her friend and she started talking about him. She said they play together and that he sometimes talks to her. She said they watch tv together and have snacks and that he drives a car sometimes to go to the park. I asked her what kind of car he drives and she said a truck. I asked if she ever goes in the truck and she said yes. <br><br><br>I asked her where he takes her and she said “the park and to the other houses”. I asked her what she means by other houses and she said “he takes me to his friends houses and we play”. I asked her more questions but she didn’t have much to say. She was excited to tell me about boomer but seemed a bit nervous and like she didn’t want to tell me more. I asked her if she could call boomer and she said yes. She closed her eyes and started talking to him but he didn’t answer. I laughed and asked her again but still he didn’t answer. <br><br><br>I asked her if she could call him when she went to sleep so I could hear him. She said yes and I went to sleep as well. I woke up in the middle of the night and went to check the camera. To my surprise it was working again. I heard Lily make a noise and went closer to the camera. She was talking to boomer again. I heard a mans voice answer her. I’m not sure what he said but Lily started giggling and saying something back. I pulled out my phone and took a picture with the flash. As soon as the flash went off the monitor started flickering and the screen went black. <br><br><br>The next day I told my family what happened and they told me to bring Lily to them. I told them I wanted her to tell them about boomer too and they agreed. The next day we went to my moms house and I told Lily to tell my mom about boomer. She started telling her and I interrupted and told her to watch the baby monitor. We went in the car and boomer was back. Lily was talking to him and he was answering back. My mom called me in a panic and said she saw a man in the camera. She said the flash from the phone drove him away and that she saw him walk away from the camera. I hung up the phone and came home. <br><br><br>I went in her room and looked around. I called the police and they thought it was ridiculous. They asked me if I had a feeling something was off and I had. After that night I couldn’t sleep thinking my daughter was in danger. The next night I set up a camera outside her window and waited. I looked on the camera and the light flickered and then the screen went black. I ran outside and checked the camera and it was gone. My daughter came to my room and told me that she had stayed up and was waiting for me to go to sleep. <br><br><br>She said that as soon as I fell asleep the man came to the window and took the camera. She said that she told him that the camera wasn’t allowed and he took it. She said she was watching from her bed and that the man said he would leave as long as she didn’t tell me. I hugged her and told her I’m sorry and that she should’ve told me. She said she didn’t want the man to get mad at her so she said okay. I was terrified. I didn’t know what to do. This man had been in my daughters room for months and was now breaking her window to take cameras. <br><br><br>I decided to put a fake camera in her room and see what happened. I put the fake camera in her room when she fell asleep. She was still awake so I told her I would watch tv until she fell asleep. She went through her bedtime routine and felt asleep. I heard her start to talk again so I knew boomer was there. I pulled out my phone and took another picture with the flash. As soon as the flash went off the monitor started to flicker and the screen went black. I fell asleep as well. The next morning the fake camera was on the ground. <br><br><br>I looked on the monitor and Lily was fast asleep. I thought to myself, why is she so calm and cool about everything. I decided to record my daughters room for the whole night and see what happened. I put the camera in the corner and waited. It was 3am and Lily was fast asleep. I heard her make some noise and she started talking. She was giggling and saying something back and forth to boomer. I heard a man’s voice answering her. I didn’t hear what they were saying but I heard him answer every time she said something. <br><br><br>Suddenly the light in her room went on. She stopped talking and she was quiet. She started to talk again and I heard the man answer and then I heard a loud boom. Lily started screaming and I saw her trying to get out of her bed. The camera went flying and the monitor went black. I ran in to check on Lily and
