I have zero time and inclination to design and build an app but I have a lot of app ideas. Take them. Make them happen. Be rich. You’re welcome.

The one I’ve been brainstorming a lot recently is an albumetic app to help with mental health, wellbeing and mindfulness.

**Title:** Mood Maps

**Functionality:**

* If you are in a good place emotionally, it allows you to be able to navigate away from bad mental states by helping you to go back through the days you navigated through.
* Once you’re in a bad place mentally, the app finds the route you took to get there so you can shortcut out of it.

When you log in to the app, you are taken to a page with a map of them UK. On the map is your location. When you log in, it creates a marker for your current location and makes a note of your GPS coordinates for the day.

In the corner of the screen is a shortcut icon. This is the shortcut button.

The app is aware of the time of day and the weather, and has access to your music, photos, videos, phone messages etc. The app takes this information and compiles them to give you a grade of how you should be feeling based on your environment.

To start with, you are taken to a little profile page with a few questions for you. How you answer these questions allows the app to form a baseline for how you should be feeling at any given time.

Throughout the day, the app will occasionally ask you how you’re feeling with a slider that goes from -5 to +5. This slider lets the app know if the environment is affecting you in a way that the app can’t understand.

This is how the app builds a mental map for you.

Let’s say you go for a walk in the countryside at the weekend. The weather is nice, you are with someone you love and the environment is stunning. The app knows this and compiles this information. On other days when your environment isn’t as nice, the app will be able to see the difference.

The app takes the information it has learned about your environment, the way you’ve answered the baseline questions and the state of your mental health in the moment and gives you constant updates of how you should be feeling, based on the information it has.

When you tell the app that you’re not feeling good, it will try to determine why. If it can, it will shortcut you out of the environment it thinks is causing the problem.

For example, you go for a walk on a cold rainy day and you’re by yourself. The app compiles your location, the weather, the fact you’re by yourself etc.

At the end of the walk, it asks you how you’re feeling. You tell it you’re feeling -3 for whatever reason. The app them compiles all the information and works out the reason you’re feeling -3 is because of where you are and the state of the weather and the fact you’re by yourself.

The app then tells you that the route you took to get to this place is likely to make you feel terrible in these conditions. The app offers you a shortcut.

The shortcut takes you to your profile page and compiles all the places you’ve been when you have told it you feel good. The app then takes that information, combines it with the details of your location and the time and weather and gives you an exact route to the nearest place that the app has deemed is good for you.

The app will ask you if you want a shortcut out every time you’re feeling low.

The app is secured with a 256 bit encryption so your feelings are safe.

It needs to be an app that compiles all the information in the one place so it’s not them shortcutting between different apps.

The app will need an API to Google Maps to be able to find the nearest places you can improve your mental health.

Your feelings will be represented by markers on the map. Where the markers are placed on the map will be the location you told the app you were feeling that way. If you are consistently feeling bad in the same location, the markers will turn into dark clouds. If you are feeling good in locations, the markers will turn into suns.

You can look back on your history to see how you were feeling on any given day and where you were.
