What goes through a mans head when he is away from his child for a day or two?

Im 23F and this is getting off my chest because I can’t ask my dad this. He is a very closed off person when it comes to talking about feelings.<br><br>My dad worked crazy and long hours when I was younger, 6 days a week and often he would leave for work at 7am and come home at 4am. He would have to leave again at 7am so sometimes he wouldn’t even get to sleep properly.<br><br>When he had a day off on a Sunday he would often go fishing for 24 hours. A lot of the time I would ask to go but he would say no (sometimes my brother would go with him though). <br><br>I always felt like I wasn’t important to him because he left me with other people for most of his life. I felt like I didn’t have a close relationship with my father. <br><br>So back to the question, what goes through a mans head when he is away from his child? Does he think about them often?
