How do I get my girlfriend to knock off this annoying habit?

I have a very kind and gentle girlfriend. <br><br>She’s beautiful in every way, and she’s an amazing person.<br><br>But she has this really, really annoying habit. Whenever she hears a song that she likes, she sings along in the voice of a chipmunk.<br><br>I don’t mean that she sings fast. <br><br>I mean that she literally sings it in the voice of a chipmunk. She changes her pitch, her cadence, her accent… It’s spooky, actually. She does this so often, and it’s honestly driving me nuts. It doesn’t matter if it’s a slow ballad, a rock song, an old jazz tune, a song from the 80s, whatever. <br><br>I’ve asked her multiple times not to do it, to please just sing along normally, but she always refuses. <br><br>She says that she only likes singing along to songs in the voice of a chipmunk.<br><br>I’ve tried to compromise, asking her to go out into the backyard or somewhere far from me to sing in the voice of a chipmunk, but she’s refused. <br><br>I’ve even offered to take her to a professional singing coach to improve her normal singing voice, but she still says that she’d rather just sing like a chipmunk.<br><br>Honestly, I’m not sure what to do. I’ve been thinking about breaking up with her over it, but she’s such a wonderful person in every other way that I’m not sure I’m comfortable doing that.<br><br>What do you think? Am I overreacting to this, or should I just let it go? Should I take the high road and never bring it up again, or at the very least talk to her about why she’s so adamant on doing this?<br><br>Why would she keep doing this… Why would she keep doing this when I’ve politely asked her to stop?<br><br>This is so annoying.
