I have no idea what they were planning, I'm glad I got out of there safely

This happened a few years ago at my old job as a restaurant manager. I was a 22 year old woman and this location was a bit of a shit show. Our general manager had just quit, an area manager was overseeing the restaurant temporarily until they hired someone new, and we were chronically understaffed. The area manager was a middle aged man who had 2 children around college age. Those facts are relevant later.

Because of the staffing issue, a lot of us managers were working a lot overtime to make sure we had proper coverage on shifts. The A.M. would often call me and tell me it was a mess in the morning and ask if I could come in a few hours early and leave a few hours late. Sometimes I'd work a double shift with the occasional 12 hour day sprinkled in.

The evening this happened, the A.M. called me and told me he was in the process of firing one of the assistant managers for a variety of issues, and could I come in super early to help him deal with it. I agreed, and he said he'd see me in the morning. Since it was going to be a long night, I thought I'd try to get some sleep.

I got into bed and set my alarm and almost immediately heard some noise outside my house. It sounded like someone jiggling door handles, which meant they were either my dumbass neighbors or someone with ill intent. I don't know why I didn't call the cops immediately, hindsight is 20/20, etc, but I decided to go clear my head in the kitchen. I walked through the hallway and saw someone standing in my kitchen. At first I thought it was my mom or dad (they live in a different part of the country, but I knew they were in town visiting family and would sometimes surprise me by stopping by to say hello), until whoever it was turned around and it wasn't them.

It was the A.M. He looked at me confused and said, "Oh, you're still up! Good, because my son and his friends are coming over and they're going to have a few more people with them, so you don't have to rush to get to work tomorrow." His son was standing behind him, and outside I could hear some murmuring. Since the streets in my neighborhood are so narrow, you could hear voices pretty clearly from inside the house with the windows closed.

I freaked out and told him to get the fuck out and that I was calling the police. I started walking towards the door and opened it to ask the people outside to leave or I'd call the cops on them too. The AM grabbed me and told me to calm down and that he wasn't trying to do anything weird, he just wanted to party with me. I broke free and ran back to my room to call 911.

I didn't end up getting to call them, though. My dad happened to be driving by my street when he saw a bunch of cars parked up and down the block and a bunch of people chilling outside. He immediately thought something was wrong, because I told him I was going to bed early since I had an early shift, and he recognized the manager's car parked out front. So he pulls over and walks toward my house, and when he opens the door (his key still worked at the time) he heard my manager screaming at me to calm down and that I was "misinterpreting the situation." My dad yelled at him to get the fuck out as well, and told me to grab my gun and go to my room and lock the door until the police got there. A lot of the people outside my house were now running to their cars and speeding away, and the manager's son rolled his eyes and told his dad to stop screwing around and that this had gone too far.

The police did come, and the manager got fired, but nothing came of it because he said he was just trying to plan a going away party and my dad barging in ruined it. I later found out he "misinterpreted the situation" with one of the other managers too (she didn't press charges since it was just a misunderstanding!!), the area manager got fired, and I eventually quit and got a better job.

Area Manager, I have no idea what you and your son and his friends were planning, I hope it wasn't what I think it was, and if you're still out there, let's not meet again.
