It’s crazy how many low level jobs are incompatible with AI right now

I don’t get how there is such a large debate that AI is going to do everything better and more quickly.

Yes I’m sure future jobs will be better and more quickly with AI. But we are not there.

I don’t pay someone 15 dollars an hour to drive a semi truck and know when to hit the gas, etc. I pay them to make up for them having to wait at loading docks for hours, being held up by traffic, etc. I have an automated truck you’d rather pay them 15 dollars an hour to sit there and do nothing while they are driving (for future reference of course)

By the time we get to the point where we can pay people to sit at home and do nothing and get paid, there will be so many solutions to automation.

If I was to guess I’d say we are like 30 years away from being able to have a driver sit there and watch Netflix and play 8bit games while doing nothing.

I think about it more and more everyday and I just don’t understand them fear yet. It’s like fearing water in your water bottle will kill you. Could be possible, but it isn’t right now.
