My parents took the story of Oedipus Rex at face value

As the title says. Well, no face value, but they took it and ran with it. <br><br>This happened 20 years ago, and it's only now that I really understand the magnitude of what occurred. <br><br>My story is not about me and my dad. I'm a girl, btw. <br><br>I'm going to write like it was yesterday. I'm a child again, and I'm going to explain what I understand and what I remember from back then. They're both from Naples, Italy, but their families are from Campania and they don't know each other. We live in Naples. My grandmother (father's side) is originally from a wealthy family as well, even if they're not as rich as they used to be. But they have a lot of properties. That's why we live in Naples and not somewhere else. I love my grandma. And I love my grandpa too, obviously. <br><br>My mom is also very sweet and kind, even though she's not in touch with reality. My dad is a weird person, but I don't have anything to say about him. He's a good dad. Well, he was. I was 11yo at the time this all went down. My sister, Bianca (I changed her name btw), was 6yo. When she was born, I was so excited. I'm an only child, and I'm glad I have a sister. I love her more than anything in this world. I love her more than I love myself. I would do anything for her. I feel like I'm her mom sometimes. My parents are weird, and I take care of her. I don't know. I just have to take care of her. <br><br>So, my main problem is with my grandparents (mother's side). I love my grandparents (father's side), and they love me. When they found out about the situation, they were angry and they didn't talk to my parents for three years. I think they're mad at my dad. I think they blame him for everything. I love them. They help us, and they give us money. My grandpa says he's mad at my mom too, but I think he's mad at my dad. I think they all blame him for everything. <br><br>My mom and dad are wealthy, but my grandparents (mother's side) are billionaires. I don't know, they're very rich. They invested their money well, and they made more. They own many hotels in Capri, Naples and the Amalfi Coast. <br><br>My parents hate my grandparents. My grandpa is very strict and stern. He wants us to do what he says, and he only cares about the family. He cares about his hotels as well, but he can't let the family fall apart. I understand him. He's a good grandpa, even if he seems strict. He's like my grandpa from my dad's side. He's strict as well, but he takes good care of us. My mom is scared of my grandpa. I'm not. He doesn't like me, but he doesn't hate me. He's strict because he loves us. He's angry at my dad, because my dad didn't do what he was supposed to do. I don't know. I heard him talk with my grandma. He was angry and he said my dad was supposed to protect us and he didn't. I don't know what he means. <br><br>My grandma is different. She's a very evil woman, and she scares me. She doesn't love us, and she doesn't even love my mom. I don't know. I think she only cares about the hotels and the family. She's not interested in us, and she only wants to know if we're doing well and healthy because she's scared of what my grandpa might do. <br><br>My mom is very scared of my grandma, and I am too. I'm 11yo, and I don't know what she might do if she's angry. <br><br>My family is very fucked up. Sorry for the language. I don't know why. My parents aren't very smart, but they're not bad people. My dad is 46yo and my mom is 41yo. They're in their 40s, and they should know better. But they don't. I know they love me and Bianca, but they're weird. <br><br>And they're both very scared of my grandma. I heard my mom talk with my dad, and they were talking about my grandma. My dad is bipolar and my mom has borderline. My dad also has a drinking problem. He drinks a lot and he's drunk most of the time. He doesn't seem drunk, but he is. I think my mom is drunk too, even if she doesn't drink a lot. <br><br>My mom is also a lot older than my dad. Six years isn't a lot, but she's from a wealthy family. And she's very beautiful, even at her age. My dad is also very handsome, obviously. I don't know. My mom is beautiful, and I bet my dad fell in love with her. My mom is sweet as well. I love her.
