I'm going to go right to the point:

Some argue that similarity is always a bad thing and it's always bad to notice it.

And some argue that similarity is always a good thing and it's always good to notice it.

I'm asking you now, Is similarity always a good/bad thing? The answer is no, it's not.

Having similarity is similarity isn't inherently bad, it's not inherently good either.

What makes similarity good or bad is whether the thing being compared to the other is good or not.

** similarity to something bad is bad. similarity to something good is good. **

Anime is just a medium, just like movies or music and the rest of the media, it's not always perfect to 100% produce every single detail uniquely without any similarity to any other piece of media or other anime even.

And the most important thing is anime similarity doesn't really impact the anime quality to be honest, it's not something that people should hold on to for judgment in the first place.

>There are 2 types of copying

1- the copy is worse than the original.
2- the copy is better than the original.
3- the copy is equal to the original.

The copy being better doesn't necessarily mean the copy is better than the original, but the copy having it's own unique weight and stand out in it's own way, you can't deny the copy is not good because it was similar, you can say it didn't fit your own personal taste, but it's not bad, because it's not bad.

And there are also 2 types of similarity.

1- the similarity reaches the point of copying.
2- the similarity doesn't reach the point of copying, but is still noticeable.

>Bad similarity.

When the similarity is in a bad thing or bad execution.

When the copy is worse than the original, then that's bad.

The similarity in a bad thing doesn't make it good, obviously, but it's not like that similarity is going to make it even more bad.

When you say similarity is bad, it's possible the similarity isn't really bad, the thing it's similar to is bad, like the similarity to a bad movie, bad anime or a bad execution.

Is it always bad when there's a similarity in an anime?

>Good similarity.

When the similarity is in a good thing, good execution, this similarity is good, because the thing it's similar to is good.

And when that similarity makes the anime stand out in it's own way and unique in it's own way, then it's a good anime in general.

I've seen some people argue that similarity is seen as bad because it's not original enough, but is that really a bad thing?

Is it really bad to be similar to another anime that people liked?

Is being similar a bad thing if it reminds you of something you like?

Is it bad to not create every single detail in an anime without any similarity to anything else?

I mean, there's nothing wrong with similarities, as long as it's not copying without any changes, that's bad.

And there's nothing wrong with copying as long as the copy isn't bad, and it has it's own unique weight and can stand out in it's own way, that's a good thing.

And if people like the copy, then people like the copy, it's good for them.

Let's say for example there's a super popular anime everyone likes, and then another anime comes out that's similar to it, but not copying without any changes, is that a bad thing?

Is it bad to remind you of something you like?

Is it bad if it's not 100% original in every single detail?

If you say no, then with that logic, similarity isn't always bad.

And if you say yes, then what you're really saying is you want it to be completely different from what you like, and that's not a good thing.

Because if the anime was so different from what you like, then you won't like it, because well, it's completely different from what you like.

So is not having similarity always a good thing?

Nah, not really, it's subjective just like everything else, but you can't say similarity is always good or always bad.

And everyone has their own thoughts about what is good and what is bad, so if someone reminds you of something you like, and another person reminds them of something they don't like, it's not like both people see the same thing similarly.

So that's why the similarity isn't seen as bad/good from everyone's perspective, and that's why it's subjective.

I mean sure, there are some cases when the similarity is just out of hand, to the point of just copying without any changes, that's bad.

But I don't think it's really something that is looked down upon generally, it's not something people look down on generally, it's just not something that people care about as much, so they don't look down on it much.

But it's not something people hold on to for judgment, especially on anime, and it's not something people really think about when judging anime, so they don't really look down on it.

I mean, there are some cases when the similarity is in a bad thing, the copy is worse than the original or it's not even good enough to be similar to something, that's bad.

I think the issue is with everyone having thoughts about what is good and what similarity is bad, and that's why not everyone agrees on the same thing.

But the similarity isn't really seen as bad from everyone's perspective from the get-go.

I'm not saying everyone holds the same opinion or perspective, that's not what I'm saying, I'm saying people have their own thoughts and thoughts are subjective, so similarity isn't always bad.

I'm not saying people don't think similarity is bad, but rather, I'm not saying it's always bad, because it's not.

It's not even something people really care about in the long run, I mean, some people might think it's bad, but that's not something that people think about when judging anime, it's not something that really impacts the anime quality.

I think in the long run, when you look at an anime and look back on it, you're not really thinking of similarity in general, so it's not something people really think about in general, especially when judging anime on a long run basis, not a short-term basis.

I mean, sometimes people don't even notice the similarity in the first place, so similarity isn't even in their minds when judging anime in general.

And people just don't look down on anime or any other media just because there's a similarity, especially if it's something good.

>Bad execution.

Obviously, when the similarity is in a bad thing and the copy is worse than the original, and the anime didn't execute it well in their copy, then that's bad.

But again, it's not the similarity that's bad, it's the thing itself.

>Good execution.

Obviously, when the similarity is in a good thing, the copy is equal/better than the original and the anime executed it well in their copy, then that's good.

So we can conclude that similarity isn't always bad, it's not always good.

It depends on context, and context is subjective.

So if you want to judge something based on similarity, then you should think if the similarity is good or not.

Is similarity between anime and anime good or bad?

Well, it depends, if the similarity is between 2 anime with execution that you like and remind you of something you like, then it's good.

If the similarity is between 2 anime with execution that you don't like and remind you of something you don't like, then it's bad.

The thing I wanted to say here is that similarity is not always bad, and it's not always good, it depends on context, it depends on the execution and the similarity itself and the original source that the anime is similar to, and people have their own thoughts about what is good and what the similarity is bad.

And everyone has a different perspective on things.

So you can't really say similarity is always bad or always good without considering that context, and people's thoughts about what they like and what they don't like.

So similarity isn't always bad, it's not always good, and it's not always something people look down on.

I mean, in the long run, people don't really think that similarity is bad, and it's not something people look down on much.

I think the thing people look down on the most is bad execution, not similarity, because bad execution is something that does in fact impact the anime quality, while similarity doesn't.

I'll give you 2 examples:

You have a similarity between 2 anime, the first anime is execution you like and remind you of something you like, the second anime is execution you don't like and remind you of something you don't like.

In this case, you have 2 similarities, between 2 anime, and the outcome is different, similarity isn't always good or always bad.

Another example:

You have a similarity between a movie and an anime, the similarity between the 2 is something you like, but executed poorly.

Or the similarity between the 2 is something you don't like, but executed perfectly.

In the first case, similarity is not bad, but the execution is bad, in the second case, similarity is bad, but the execution is not bad.

So similarity isn't always always bad or always always good.

And it depends on the context, and people's thoughts on what they like and what they don't like.

So it's subjective.

And that's my opinion on whether the similarity is good or bad.

I've been saying that you can conclude and generalize and think that similarity isn't always bad, while at the same time, you can also
