This is a throwaway. I'm not sure I have the words to express what I'm feeling right now. I feel very fortunate and humbled and I'm grateful that I got to tell this story.

My sister was in a terrible car accident about 8 years ago. She almost died. It took a long time for her to heal, and we were told that she had permanent brain damage. She would never be the same. She wouldn't be able to go back to her old job. She would never drive again. She wouldn't be able to do a lot of things she loved to do.

Her friends were devastated. They were all saying goodbyes, hugging her, crying with her, and one of them decided to donate her organs. I don't know how they talked about it or how it was decided, but she was a match for my sister, and they were able to transplant her corneas. It was a success.

After the surgery, my sister could see lights again. She couldn't see shapes or people before, but after the transplant, she could see lights and shadows and she was so happy.

The donor's family reached out to us, and we met with them. It was such an honor to meet them. They were such an amazing family, so strong and kind. We kept in touch, even after my sister recovered.

A few years later, my sister's eyes continued to improve. They were stronger than before, and doctors said she might be able to see shapes again. It was all thanks to the donor.

Last week, my sister was able to see my face for the first time. She looked at me and smiled and said, "I can see you! I can see your face!" I cried, she cried. It was such a happy moment, and I will never forget it.

I don't know how to thank the donor for giving my sister her eyesight back. I don't know if words can express how I feel. I want to thank her family for being such an amazing donor family. I want to thank the donor for giving my sister a second chance. I want to tell everyone I know about this story. I want to tell the world.

Thank you for reading. I hope this story brings a smile to your face and maybe inspires you to become an organ donor.
