I’m 27 years old and have been flying on holiday since I was a kid but always economy. Always dreaded flying because of how cramped it is and how shitty the food tastes, how it was just s terrible way to travel but hey, it gets you places so whatever.

Well, I travelled from Europe to the United States this weekend and, for the first time in my life, I got to fly business class. And oh my god, why on this earth would I ever fly economy again.

First of all some background info on this flight: it was a 9 hour flight and not a short one. I was in a 2 person row and my neighbour wasn’t even there which made it even better. I didn’t pay for this ticket; my dad’s company paid for it but I don’t know how much it costs.

So first of all, the legroom. Oh my shit, you could probably fit 2 economy rows in one business row. It was insane. Because I wasn’t even close to the person in front of me, I could basically watch my tv during the whole flight with no issues whereas in economy you always have to wait for the people in front to eat to watch your shows during mealtime. Also, there was like 50-60% more width so you could easily cross your legs without bumping into the seat mate.

When boarding took place, business class was allowed to board first and we could enter the plane through a different door which led us directly into business class. Most of us were already seated when economy boarding started. We also got off the plane first, well about half of us did, as some had a different exit.

One of the flight attendants came to me and gave me a bottle of water. There was also a little holder with earbuds, eye mask, ear plugs, hand cream, toothbrush, tooth paste, eye cream and some other stuff like makeup remover wipes. I didn’t use everything but the eye mask was nice.

A few minutes later, a flight attendant asked me for my meal choices. I was allowed to pick between 4 different meals which was insane to me. I went for chicken. Later on during the flight, she came back to let me know that they’ve run out of chicken so they’ll be giving me the pesto pasta instead which was totally fine with me. I expected it to taste like any other airplane food, aka shitty. But it actually tasted pretty good. I’ve had worse at home.

I had to lift up my tv to get to the meal tray, which I thought was annoying at first but you just lift it up and set it aside and you can still watch your show while eating at the same table.

A flight attendant made sure my glass was always filled up with water or juice. They really pay a lot of attention to you and you could call them anytime to let them know if you need anything.

I was able to charge my phone twice during the flight because there were two usb slots with a lot of power outlets in between the seats.

I’ve slept like 30 minutes and was super energized for the rest of the flight. I just feel so good right now. I honestly feel like I just took a 2 hour flight, not a 9 hour one.

I have no clue how much a business class ticket costs but if I ever have the chance to fly business again, I’ll happily pay for the upgrade. The flight attendants were so nice, the seating was crazy good, the food was good. Even the boarding and deboarding was so much faster which is just a win-win.

Can’t wait to fly again!!!
