I think that it is self evident that the relentless growth of human productivity through technological innovation is on the cusp of eliminating poverty.<br><br>I can imagine some will argue that this is already pretty close to reality in large parts of the developed world?<br><br>Of course we cannot predict the future with total certainty, but I’m saying that I am, at minimum, 70% certain that we will see the end of involuntary destitution, mass unemployment, homelessness etc. in “the west” and other advanced economies within fifty years.<br><br>If this is true why does it feel so far in the future? Probably because it is so profound and unprecedented that we cannot contemplate its reality yet. You can appreciate that this version of the future is almost beyond our collective imagination. <br><br>The end of involuntary work.
