Why do so many people say the economy is doing terrible when the data shows that the economy is doing well? It is very confusing

I don’t get it. I’m Canadian and the economic data seems to be showing a very good economy. Low unemployment, extremely high labour participation rate, and record low child and poverty rate. All the metrics seem to be going in the right direction. <br><br>But everyone I talk to seems to say the economy is doing terrible. What’s going on? Is it just me?
