Let’s reopen our schools.

I’ve been a teacher for the last 10 years. I love my job, all my students, colleagues and the place I work. I’m a mother of two as well and my children are my world. I’m not reckless when it comes to their safety. <br><br>I’ve followed all the CDC guidelines, everything. And I’m tired of all these leaps of faith that we’re forced to take in order to keep our economy working. We need to put money on the table, we need to open up our schools cause all this remote learning is not working and it’s becoming a huge problem in other countries as well. <br><br>Living in Brazil I see my family and friends infected, some of them in their 30s, otherwise healthy. There wasn’t enough testing, the government didn’t do anything, they didn’t even built enough hospitals. I did everything I could do to protect my sons and myself. <br><br>The problem is that no one knows what will happen to children who get the virus. No one knows cause there wasn’t enough research and there wasn’t enough time to conduct the research needed. I don’t wanna be that mom who sent her child to school normally cause I’m a “good citizen”, I don’t wanna bury my children. Neither my students. <br>I just don’t see why we can’t just stay home for a few more months and just be careful. I rather be stuck at home than bury my kids.
