I don't like the anime community because I often get judged for the type of anime I like.

I'm new to anime and I'm still exploring it. I like ecchi and harem anime because they're fun and entertaining but I don't like them exclusively I also like other genres like fantasy, sci-fi, action and etc. I've tried watching other anime with no ecchi or harem involved in it and a few of them are on my favorites list but the problem is that I often get judged or I feel judged by others when I tell them the type of anime I like. For example I had a friend who liked anime and I told them my top 10 favorite anime list and they got angry about it because 3 of them were from the harem genre and they told me that harem anime is pure garbage and then it came to an argument. Do you feel judged by others when telling them your favorite anime?
