Gun Control Isn't Working...

.....because the problem is with a subset of human beings, not tools.<br><br>You can't fix the problem by removing just a few of the billions of guns from circulation. You can't fix the problem by banning certain types of guns. The problem isn't with guns. If it was, we would have a rates of violence similar to many countries where guns are banned. We don't. Our violence rates are similar to countries with high gun ownership.<br><br>The problem isn't with tools, it is with human behavior. Specifically, the behavior of deranged lunatics who have no regard for human life, including their own.<br><br>The sooner we realize this, the sooner we will actually start working on the real problem. But it's harder to get in someone's head than to just ban a tool.<br><br>If you think gun control is going to solve the problem of mass shootings, you are lazy and naive.<br><br>Edit: I knew this post would get a lot of hate, but I'm trying to start a genuine conversation about the problem. Clearly, it is a problem. It's not going away. We need to start actually talking if we want to solve it.<br><br>Edit: I'm getting a lot of comments about mental health care. I'm not sure that would be enough. Most of these mass shooters aren't crazy. They are just evil. I'm not sure they can be "cured".
