What is something that the internet convinced you of, that you now know is wrong?

I've heard internet communities convince people of some wild stuff. The "jordans are the most comfortable shoes ever" craze comes to mind. But I think my personal favorite is how the internet convinced people that the movie "Trainspotting" is a comedy. I remember watching the movie in high school when I first saw it and I thought it was absolutely hilarious. But now it seems like the general consensus is that it's more drama than comedy.
