Does anyone else have a very vivid memory of a time that scared them?

I was very young. My brother and I were staying the night at my grandparents. I think I was about 6. I have a vivid memory of being awoken by something making a noise on the window, I turned to my brother and we looked at the window, then turned to each other and looked back at each other, then my brother turned around and went to sleep. I remember being paralyzed and couldn't move or talk. My brother and I had a very special bond. I remember that I knew that he wouldn't hurt me, and if something was on the window it couldn't have hurt us because my brother would protect us. So I went to sleep. I'm a grown man now and I still think about that experience. I was scared shitless of my room for a long time. I would hear a noise and freeze in place.
