Hate the concept of making random elements "magical" in your stories

"Welcome to this realm where magic doesn't exist"<br><br>"But this tree is magical and only blooms when there's a lunar eclipse"<br><br>"Oh, and this waterfall is also magical and grants you eternal youth, but I'll die in 80 years regardless because that's just how it is. I have actual thoughts and feelings outside of the magical object that I'm intrinsically tied to, and it doesn't control my existence"<br><br>"Oh I see, what about this rock?"<br><br>"It's magical"
