Is it normal to wake up in a cold sweat with a fear of dying in your sleep?

I’ve been waking up to a cold sweat, with a racing heartbeat for the past 3-4 days now. It started about 3 weeks ago where I would wake up to my pillow and blankets all wet with sweat. I tried to take my pillow off of my bed to wash it but I realized that the sweat wasn’t from me, it was from my pillow. That’s when I noticed my pillow had blood on it. I freaked out because I thought I might have a sleep disorder where I would literally strangle myself in my sleep.

I started googling things and it made me realize how many people die in their sleep from sleep apnea or other disorders. I’ve been scared ever since that I’m gonna die in my sleep. It’s been 3 weeks but the last 3-4 days I’ve been waking up to a cold sweat with a racing heartbeat and it’s terrifying.

I’m starting to think that this is just my body’s natural response to waking up from a deep sleep, but I still can’t get over this fear. Does anyone else feel this way?
