I live in the Midwest, and I've been open about my politics my whole life. I've set boundaries, I've been called "Jane Fonda" because of my "leftist" politics. I am not even that leftist. - I'm just not rightist.

Anyway, I've heard that the current rightist movement is mostly fueled by angry white men.

But in personal experience, the person I know who is closest to the 1776 mindset is a white woman. This woman is a Christian nationalist. She literally - not hyperbolically - believes that Jesus Christ guides her to do things. I kid you not, she STRONGLY believed that Trump was divinely appointed. And even though he lost and was a failed president on every front, she believes that he was part of God's plan. I'm not going to go too much into it, as it's not the point, but I live in the Midwest and have to interact with her every few months.

Anyway, this woman's duke boys mentality is - she literally wants the government to fail and burn down because of welfare abuse. *That's the extent of it.* She wants the government to fail and burn down because she has this anecdotal evidence - anecdotes - that people are abusing welfare.

That people *she doesn't know* and has heard *through the grapevine* are abusing welfare.

And she wants the government to fail and burn down - and believes that Jesus is guiding her to believe this - so that welfare cheats can be punished. It's absolutely ridiculous.

I don't know what else to say. The closest person I know - and literally the only person I know - who is like this is a white woman.
