does the internet love teachers or hate us?

I used to go on Reddit every day and get pumped up reading all the stories about people who wanted to be teachers because they respected us so much, stories about students who still thank us 30+ years later, and about parents who slept through conferences because they were tired but were so sorry and so nice.

I still pass out reddit stories to my colleagues from time to time and they enjoy them.

I just come to reddit once a week or so now though. I don’t want to see that obnoxious post about how every teacher is a loser who could never make it in the corporate world. Or the ones about panic attacks or saying we’re all “lesser.”

I don’t like that the one “bad” direction that reddit has taken has drowned out the other.
